Final Report

One of the conditions of my Scholarship that helped me to go to America is that I write a formal final report.  I hardly lacked material for this - between the blog posts I did on the road, almost a complete notebook of contemporary records and what I still have buzzing around my head I mainly had to think about editing it down to a managable length!

I finally finished it this weekend and sent off to the Trustees so if you fancy over 8000 words of deathless prose then you can read it here.

  1. Alex - I am not too familiar with how this works - but I guess & hope you pick this up.
I work for the County Council on the Community & Voluntary Sector team and as you graciously pointed out the County along with the City Council are the main sponsors of the Roosevelt Scholarship - our contribution comes through the team I work on. I just wanted to say how much I enjoyed going through all your blogs - what a way to get distracted on a Friday afternoon - brilliant! you certainly packed a massive amount in. Our Councillors have just agreed to make our contribution for a further 2 years - which is great given the finances at the moment. Anyway, I hope that future travellers embrace the opportunity like you did.

Best Wishes - Paul Roberts Notts County Council
